THE GROOVE BOUTIQUE RADIO SHOW

My name is DJ J. Bourne and I hail from Brooklyn, NY.

I have been DJ'ing since the age of 12 and have been doing it full time over the past decade. My beginnings started out with the love of R&B Classics and Caribbean music (mostly because my background is Caribbean) and I began collecting vinyl from the tender age of 4. From youth, I always loved to tell people about the random facts I learned about music and the artists. I groomed that knowledge with my skill as a DJ and after a stint as a high school counselor, I turned my focus towards my passion: MUSIC.

I worked 2 years for the VP Record label in Queens, NY, as Director of Radio Promotions. While, I was there, I began doing radio shows and live broadcasts on NYC’s WBLS and WLIB. I also toured the NYC club scene and build a reputation as a great DJ and crowd motivator.

In 2002, I decided to turn my efforts towards becoming a full time DJ. Since that time, I have played in almost every nightclub in NYC but came to a decision to slow things down just a bit last year due to the change and quality of music that was currently being produced and played. I wanted to go back to my roots and do what made me happy and that was playing good old school music and giving out my "random facts" about it.

I decided to use Facebook as a way of promoting my old school mixes and also "The Groove Boutique Radio Show" and have received great reviews on both. My goals are to "Keep Great Music Alive" and continue to do what is right for me.
